Email marketing still remains one of the most effective methods of business communication. Free, instant and direct – there isn’t a much better marketing strategy but just how do you get those clicks and stay consistent without it becoming a pain? We’ve come up with 3 simple and effective methods to make your email strategies work well.
1. Create attention grabbing subject lines
This is by far the most important element of email marketing. The subject line is the first thing that a recipient reads and even if they don’t know the sender, if the subject line is grabbing, they will most probably open it. Make them short, snappy and appealing. Research also shows that subject lines in 49 characters or under have a better open rate than those higher. Instead of writing ‘summer body information’, write ‘3-step guide to a fantastic summer body.’
2. Making it work for mobiles is essential
We’ve all got increasingly frustrated when an email won’t load on our phone, text wonky and pictures all over the place – but don’t let this be you! Smartphone and tablets account for over half of all emails opened so make them responsive. Don’t miss out on sealing the sale simply because it looks weird on a phone.
3. Automate your messages
As with your social media marketing, email marketing must be automated. No one wants to sit and manually compile a monthly email newsletter. It is a waste of someones time when it can just be automated through something like Lifesycle. As well as ensuring that your emails are going out on time and to your entire database consistently, you will also be saving time through the automation.
